[He had a feeling. Intuition tells him it's similar without her needing to say so. He just feels it. That sense of loss that happens often around here.

He's not doing great himself. He's better, was better when he had company to keep his mind off things, but the nights alone are so much heavier than they used to be.

He's tired.

But he won't ever let that stop him from helping someone he cares about.

The door opens and he doesn't need more than a glance to tell she needs a hug, which is exactly what he gives with strong arms and a firm hold.]

[ Fortunately for you, sir, and for her as well, she really needs company right now. They can help each other through things. Right now she's a mess, not even fighting the hug she receives. In fact, she instantly returns it, squeezing him tight and trying not to start crying again. She knows he wouldn't think any less of her if she did, but she didn't like the feeling of being that vulnerable, not even around someone she felt close with. She rarely cried in front of her friends back home, even. ]

[He can't and won't force her to cry even if he knows it'd probably help more than hinder at this point. He knows her pride.

All he can really do now is offer company and a shoulder if she does feel she needs it eventually.

He'll let the hug linger a little while before finally moving her inside, closing the door behind him.]

[ She did feel bad about coming to him with this sort of thing even though he was also going through a loss, but she didn't really know where else to turn. She had maybe two good friends in this place other than Els, and Els was gone now, and Carlos was the first one she thought of to turn to ... After she got out a good amount of crying. ]

[He was healing, slowly, but even if he was still suffering as bad as he had been that day he would absolutely shake it off for her sake.]

[ She'd probably say he would be dumb to shake off his own shit for the sake of her shit, especially when he's been dealing with her shit practically the entire time they've known each other, but she's so emotionally drained that she just nods. ]

[Look. Trauma is practically Carlos' middle name. This is nothing new, and he'll move on regardless, and frankly focusing on someone else for a while is only going to help.

He nods and leads her back to the bedroom so she can put her things away.]
